A day out in Wellington
Wellington itself has a lot to offer for an enjoyable day out.
Wellington Market, largely under cover has a history dating back to King Henry lll's charter in 1244. But also it is a wonder full place to shop, with a wide variety of stalls. People come from all the surrounding towns and villages to shop here.

The shopping streets too are worth a visit, main streets are pedestrian areas.

They are all here in New Street, Market Street, The Square and streets off it.
Plenty of banks with cash machines if you run short.
While you are here you can buy your groceries, because we also have supermarkets quite nearby.
And don't forget Wrekin College, public school.

What about a walk in wonderful countryside with lakes, birds exotic trees etc. all within a mile or two of the town centre?
Apley Castle Park has lovely walks and lakes. Half an hour or an hour here will whet your appetite for more.
There is a family run nursery just alongside, off Whitchurch Drive (A442)
Near to Wellington is the Wrekin which has a well defined walk to the summit. A fairly strenuous rise but quite suitable for the average 'walker' and cars may be taken to the base of the hill.
Tee Lake and Dothill Pool will give you an hour's delightful stroll as a round walk, with swans, ducks, geese, grebes and others.
