CLIMATE EMERGENCY
Wellington Town Council formed a ‘Climate Emergency’ working group in 2020 to recognise the importance of moving towards a greener town with a reduced carbon footprint. The group aims to support residents, businesses and organisations in their efforts to cut waste, save money and reduce their impact on our environment.
The climate team has already started working with Sustainable Telford and Wrekin, Zero Carbon Shropshire, The Plastic Taskforce and the Refill scheme. One of the ambitions is to move Wellington to becoming a plastic free community.
