Wellington Town Council have been working with Telford & Wrekin Council, West Mercia Police and Local Councillors to help try and tackle traffic and speed issues across the Town.
In response to residents’ concerns, the Police and Town Council have been working in partnership to tackle speeding in Wellington through the following measures.
- We have agreed with West Mercia Police that they will conduct speed surveys in various locations around Wellington that have been recognised as having the highest number of complaints.
- In addition the Town Council, in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner, have funded a Speed Indicator Device which will be placed in identified hotspots in Wellington. We’ve also agreed to work towards expanding the number of units and the number of locations in future. Data will be collected and used to inform decision future making on enforcement measures.
