Pictures of the welcoming party for the first train to London April 2008
Wellington Town Council welcome the important decision to improve the number of through trains stopping at the Town’s station. They are particularly pleased with the early morning service which begins today.
The Council recognise the very great value of their town having its own railway station on a direct line to London. The significant improvements to the service will enhance rail travel for all Wellington residents and help to promote the area as a tourist attraction. The Council also point out that professional and business links to the capital will be improved significantly when this new service begins to operate.
