Literary Festival 2011

October 2011 saw Wellington’s 15th Literary Festival. Novelist and playwright Fay Weldon kicked off the festival and packed over 200 people into Wrekin College’s Centenary Theatre. Back by popular demand was Lesley Smith with her performance, this year, as Anne Boleyn. Ian McMillan and his Orchestra had his audience rolling in the aisles with laughter; there was not a dry eye in the house. Sport and crime writers, first time novelists, along with local historian performances, all added to the rich tapestry of this year’s festival which made it a huge success. Wellington Town Council would like to thank everyone who was involved, and you, the public, for attending.
