Annual Town Assembly

What is the Town Assembly?

Every Parish must by law meet once a year at a public meeting known as the Annual Parish Meeting, Annual Town Meeting, or Town Assembly. The meeting is a meeting of the Town’s Parishioners and not a meeting of the Town Council.

Why attend?

The Meeting provides all Parishioners with an opportunity to raise any issue of concern to the residents of Wellington. It also affords members of the public an opportunity to learn about the work of the Town Council and to ask questions of the Mayor and other Town Councillors on matters of importance to the Town and within the remit of the Town Council.  If a vote is taken on any matter raised at the Meeting, only those persons who reside within the Parish of Wellington are permitted to vote. All Parishioners are welcome to attend.
