Wellington is twinned with Châtenay-Malabry, south-west of Paris and the Wellington and District Twinning Association is eager to recruit new members and host families.

Exchange visits take place annually and it is Wellington’s turn to host about 30 residents of Châtenay on the occasion of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee weekend from 3rd to 5th June next year.

A programme of events will be organised but host families also have time to build new friendships and do individual outings.

In June 2019, about 30 Wellingtonians were wonderfully hosted in Châtenay and in addition, the Wellington Brass Band and their families came across and performed in central Paris on a bandstand in the Luxembourg Gardens.

Wellington Town Council supports the Twinning Association financially but it is up to us residents to provide the welcome!

No knowledge of French is needed (they all speak English), just a willingness to be friendly and to show off Wellington and its surroundings to our guests.

We also have social events from time to time, eg quiz nights, walks, film nights and indeed all sorts of events that our members suggest.

Please complete and return the questionnaire below to Cllr Anthony Lowe (wanthonylowe@aol.com) or our Acting Chair, Laurence Moses (lgmoses@sky.com) so that we can incorporate your ideas for 2022 into our planning.

We thank you in advance.
