Art Exhibition

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!

Are you aged between 5 and 105? Would you like to exhibit and sell your paintings, drawings or photographs at our FREE Festival Art Exhibition? Your entries are welcome! The exhibition will be held at Creative Training Spaces, 8 Duke Street, Wellington, and hosted and presented by Wellington Community Art Gallery (on behalf of Wellington Town Council) between 6th and 8th May 2022.

The theme this year is: ‘Wellington – ‘THEN OR NOW?’

HOW TO ENTER:

Please include:

  • Your name
  • Your contact phone number
  • The title of your artwork
  • The medium (see 5).
  • The size no bigger than 24” x 24” square (60cm x 60cm square)
  • The price, or let us know if it is not for sale (NFS)
  • Please attach to your email a clear, good quality digital image of your artwork, e.g. in jpeg format.

If you do not use email, then ask a friend/relative to do it for you… or drop off the above information to WelliArt Gallery during our opening hours (Tue, Thu, Fri 10:30am – 2:30pm)

  • Deadline to enter: 22nd April 2022. We will acknowledge each entry received – so if you don’t hear from us within a day or so, it means we did not receive it! We will write again by the end of April to let you know if your art will be exhibited.
  • Exhibitors to please drop it off at the gallery on Tuesday 3rd May, 10:30am – 2:30pm or 5:30 – 7:00pm. Unsold art must be collected from the Gallery on Sunday 8th May between 12:30 – 2:00pm.
  • You may submit at most 2 entries – one to be exhibited, and one kept as a back-up which may also be exhibited if there’s enough space, or if your first one sells.
  • Only your own original artwork please. The exhibition is for two-dimensional art only: paintings in any medium, photographs, collage, drawings, lithographs, etchings or Lino cuts. We will not accept digital prints of your work.
  • All artwork must be clean and well presented in frames with hanging fixtures, unless it’s a canvas, which you may submit unframed.
  • Please use recent work no more than a year old
  • If any artwork is sold during the exhibition, the Gallery will retain a 15% commission of the sale price (i.e. £15 out of every £100 sold) to help cover our costs. Should your art be sold during the exhibition, we will request your bank details, and do a bank transfer (less commission) within 5 – 10 working days.
  • All care will be taken of your original art received for the Festival Exhibition. However, no responsibility will be accepted for loss or damage to the artworks at any time by Wellington Community Art Gallery, Wellington Town Council, Creative Training Spaces or any of the individuals volunteering during hanging and stewarding the exhibition; it is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure any artwork is covered by their insurance.
  • On submitting your (or your child’s) entry in this exhibition, you permit Wellington Town Council, Wellington Community Art Gallery and its Cofounders, and any of our Sponsors to publish the entries in any format we choose – whether digital or in print – for promotional purposes. Also, on submitting an entry in this exhibition, it constitutes your acceptance of all these conditions of entry.
