Following the Covid 19 lockdown period, Wellington’s Public toilets, situated at the Parade near the bus and railway stations and at the Bowring Park are now all open.

The Town Council is grateful to the staff at the Bowring Park Café for the fantastic help they have given to keep the Bowring Toilets open during the lock down period.

Things are different at the Parade Toilets because from 1st August they have been changed to an automated operating system rather than be fully staffed.  We are very grateful to our former employees who delivered an excellent service to the public, proven by the many awards they had won over the years.  We are very sad to have to let them go but the decision had to be taken because of enormously high running costs.

Many other authorities are closing their public facilities so we hope the action we have taken now will ensure we can afford to continue to provide this important and essential service for the people of Wellington in the months and years ahead.
