Wellington Regeneration Partnership
Wellington Regeneration Partnership is a joint body comprising cross-party councillors from Wellington Town and Telford & Wrekin Councils. There are 6 ‘board’ members, all of whom have full voting rights; Cllr Stephen DeLauney chairs the partnership with Cllr Jim McGinn and Cllr Paul Davis as town council representatives; Cllr Lee Carter, Cabinet Member for Place (The Economy & Neighbourhood Services) at T&W Council, Gavin Ashford Group Manager – Strategic Planning & Investment T and W Council, and James Dunn Director T and W Council, and one independent member, currently Rob Francis.
The partnership is supported in its work by Wellington Town Council officer’s and Sally Themans from Love Wellington.
The emphasis of the Wellington Regeneration Partnership is to work positively and collaboratively in a strategic way to improve the outlook of the town, encourage investment to Wellington and to assist those already trading in the town; and to keep Wellington attractive and relevant as a commercial centre for residents and visitors.
Love Wellington falls under the banner of the Regeneration Partnership.
From 2018 to 2024, Wellington has seen significant improvements with a falling vacancy rate and a wealth of new independent businesses opening their doors, bucking the national trend.
