With the Olympic opening ceremony tomorrow the Mayor of Wellington, Cllr Usman Ahmed, has been in Paris for the ‘Passage de la flamme’ in our twin town of Chateney-Malabry
This was followed by lighting of the Olympic cauldron at ‘La defence’ with the president of the department hauts-de-seine
What a huge honour that Wellington was invited to be part of this ceremony and our Mayor represented the people of Wellington so brilliantly. Thank you Usman and Cllr Lowe of the Wellington Twinning Association who accompanied him.
