Cllr Usman Ahmed has been elected as the new Mayor of Wellington, taking over from Paul Davis, who served with exceptional dedication. Cllr Ahmed, who has been a passionate Wellington Town Councillor since 2019, is committed to continuing the positive momentum in our community. As the first Asian and Muslim mayor, he reflects the diversity and inclusivity of Wellington.
Cllr Ahmed’s charity for the year is Maninplace, supporting Telford’s rough sleepers and homeless. “No one should be without a safe place to sleep at night,” said Cllr Ahmed.
