The 75th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) will be recognised on 15th August 2020 commemorating the end of the Second World War.
Wellington Town Council will be holding a short service on Saturday 15th, in the peace garden, with prayers a 2 minute silence and the last post will be played by our town band bugler.
Due to government guidelines and social distancing, the ceremony is not intended to attract a crowd and residents are therefore not encouraged to attend. The ceremony will be lived streamed on the Wellington Town Council Facebook page.
